Produced by the esteemed house of Château Beaucastel, Coudoulet de Beaucastel is arguably the best Côtes du Rhône wine available. In fact, it is termed as a “baby Châteauneuf-du-Pape”, one that puts many other Châteauneuf wines to shame.
Château Beaucastel is one of the most respected wineries in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a wine region within Rhone Valley that enjoys a stellar standing with the likes of Bordeaux and Burgundy. It is also one of the oldest estates in the appellation, dating all the way back to 1549. In producing Coudoulet de Beaucastel, the winery never held back and used their 80-year-old vines just outside the Châteauneuf boundary. Coupled with the legendary 2016 vintage which the region enjoyed, Wine Advocate rates this wine a respectable 93 points, considering it “the best Coudoulet ever tasted”.
In the Coudoulet de Beaucastel, you can expect a creamy lush, full-bodied yet accessible wine with fine soft silky tannins. On the palate, it features plenty of red fruits accompanied with black olives and spices.
